Founded in 1979, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University was established, which is one of the earliest breast, thyroid and pancreatic surgery (specialties) in China. It is a national key clinical specialty of the Ministry of Health, Chongqing Breast Cancer Center, Chongqing key discipline, doctoral and master's degree authorization point.
There are 173 open beds; 10 professors and 7 associate professors, including 2 doctoral supervisors, 11 master supervisors and 22 doctors.Eighty percent of the staff have studied in France, the United States, Japan, Canada and pursue doctoral degrees, which has formed a good academic echelon.

The medical treatment, scientific research and teaching level of the department is first-class in China, and it has a high popularity in China.He successfully hosted the 9th Breast Reconstruction Class, hosted the ninth Sino-France International Advanced Academic Forum for Breast Cancer, and has extensive cooperation and exchanges with many French hospitals and research institutions; and hosted many national continuing education classes on breast cancer, breast reconstruction, thyroid cancer and critical pancreatitis.

(1) Standardized breast cancer diagnosis and comprehensive treatment measures
Since 1997, with preserved breast cancer, it has taken the lead in carrying out advanced technologies such as small tumor positioning and sentinel lymph node biopsy in this region.In recent years, radical breast cancer breast reconstruction, including dorsal muscle flap reconstruction, rectus muscle breast reconstruction, prosthesis implantation breast reconstruction, dorsal + prosthetic breast reconstruction, dilator implant breast reconstruction and reconstruction, is the earliest department in the western region, the first-class technical level, become one of the largest cases in the country, attracted breast cancer patients all over the country to see the doctor and receive breast reconstruction surgery.
Our department took the lead in carrying out minimally invasive breast breast cutting technology in this region, which has small trauma, has the advantages of accurate, complete and beautiful resection, and also improves the diagnosis proportion of early breast cancer.
(2) Standardized thyroid disease diagnosis and surgical treatment measures
The department is one of the main bases for the clinical research of thyroid diseases in southwest China, and the technical level is at the top in China, and it is a medical institution with one of the largest number of cases in this region.A large number of surgical treatment of huge, advanced and refractory thyroid cancer considered incurable by neighboring provincial and municipal hospitals have been carried out, and the effect has been achieved with satisfactory results.In recent years, the successful endoscopic-assisted thyroid tumor resection (minimally invasive surgery) has benefited more patients.
(3) Standardized treatment measures for pancreatic tumors
The department has diagnosed and treated nearly 1,000 cases of pancreatic cancer, and has achieved excellent results with high resection rate, less surgical complications, low mortality rate and high survival rate.In the western region, at the advanced level, the treatment of numerous pancreatic endocrine tumors, such as islet cell tumor, gastrinoma, has been completed.
(4) Pancreatic transplantation center
The department is the only pancreatic transplant center in Chongqing approved by the Ministry of Health.Pancreatic transplantation can increase patient insulin secretory cells, thus effectively control blood sugar and prevent and improve the complications of diabetes.Pancreatic and kidney combined transplantation is the best choice for diabetes with renal dysfunction, which can completely improve the survival conditions of diabetes and renal dysfunction.
